🛕 Chennakesava Temple – The Highlight of Somnathpur

• Built in 1268 CE, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

• It follows the trikuta (three-shrine) layout, featuring three sanctums, each with a beautifully carved tower (shikhara).

• Constructed from soapstone, the temple showcases some of the finest and most detailed stone carvings in India.

• Unlike the more famous Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebidu, the Somnathpur temple is smaller but better preserved.
