Kashmir’s History
Ancient Times:
Kashmir’s history dates back to at least the 3rd century BC when it was part of the Mauryan Empire. Buddhism spread during this time.
Hindu Rule (7th–14th centuries):
Hindu dynasties like the Karkotas and Utpalas ruled Kashmir during this period.Muslim Rule – Shah Mir Dynasty (1339):
Shah Mir became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir, starting the Shah Mir dynasty.Mughal and Afghan Rule (1586–1819):
The Mughals ruled from 1586, followed by the Afghan Durrani Empire in 1751.Sikh Rule (1819–1846):
The Sikhs, led by Ranjit Singh, took control of Kashmir in 1819.Dogra Rule (1846–1947):
